No, just no. The idea for this book is cute but reading it was painful. Even Carly Robin's excellent narration couldn't save it.

I did not enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would. The concept was interesting and the main draw for me, but the writing, story, and characters overall were not amazing. Gretchen was also the most insufferable character I have read, and somehow she is Jayne's friend (and even Jayne considers that she might need new friends). I think there were only three scenes I enjoyed, and they were between Jayne and Luke because Luke was the best and only sensible character in the book. I did really like how considerate and careful Luke was  when interacting with Jayne, and how he made sure to check in with her at every intimate moment. There's also a ton of Star Wars and sci-fi/fantasy geek references in the book, so this is good for fans of that and Star Wars especially.

Slow start

Really enjoyed this in the end, but it just took me a bit longer to get into than the other titles by this author. Still a great read with lots of fuzzy feelings to finish.

In this fun rom-com, writer Jayne Dandy, deals with her fear of intimacy and S-E-X by writing erotic fiction. Jayne can’t even talk about the sexy stuff, so relationships are hard. Jayne shares her love of Star Wars with local food truck owner, Luke (twin brother to Leia), and writes fanfic and sci-fi stories with Luke as the love interest.
When Jayne loses her job, she secretly publishes her steamy stories under a pseudonym, not expecting her writing career to take off like a rocket. Ultimately Jayne has to face her fears and own herself.

Book club read, very predictable. Reads kinda like a fanfic
