I loved this book. Twists at every turn.
The author really knew how to twist an investigation and I definitely was blindsided until the very last phase of the book/murders
Spoilers  below:
  • I can't believe Ali was there all long, hiding in the closet like a freak but dear god
  • i honestly though Charley would turn out to be the killer and that it would be revealed in the epilogue but honestly not mad. Sam and Audrey made sense
  • I figured out Audrey after the mentionof the drug helping autoimmunediseases and yet Sam still came as a shock
  • was kind of hoping for Karl to also reappearas as a mystery mirder surprise and him and Charley wpuld run off into the sunset but it truly wpuldnt have made sense
  • also we all agree Dasha killed Sam in the end, like the executioner style mention cant have been a coincidence
  • also what tf happened to Kamal after sue disappeared?  She wasn't mentioned anywhere unlike Charley and Ali AKA the massacre survivors

An entertaining Christmas-themed murder mystery.

The remote snowy setting was fun. The characters were mostly unlikeable but I think that was fitting. The writing was decent.

Listened to the audiobook which was narrated very well.

I really enjoyed this book especially reading around Christmas when a new Agatha Christie is always on the TV. I really like Andreina's style because as a reader you are given the clues and trying to solve the murder just as Charley did. I liked how it was all set around a fake murder mystery which suddenly became very real especially as all the characters roles had similarities to themselves. At first it was a bit difficult to keep up with all of the different characters but all of them were intriguing yet awful with their own secrets which were unravelled throughout the book. Even though I guessed it was Sam and Audrey early on I still enjoyed how it all came together at the end and there were still surprises with Dashas role in everything.

Thank you to Edelweiss, Pegasus Books, and Simon & Schuster for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.

YOOOOOOOOOO first things first I finished this in practically one sitting - absolutely could not put it down, super atmospheric whodunnit with twisty psychological wackadoodle red herrings and you think you’ve got it figured out and you mostly do but you DON’T, okay? You don’t.

(FYI: Check the content warnings)

Loved the nods to Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None (which I read earlier this year and LOVED), loved how creepy and atmospheric it was, loved the flashbacks.

(All of that being said, there was ONE character that I didn’t really get, a bit out of place with the rest of the story, but whatever, just moving on)

Also, this one might not be everyone’s cup of tea so normally I would have chosen “borrow” rather than “bring” but THIS COVER? Yeah. It’s gotta go on the shelves.
