Fiona Fleming and Petunia do it again for a leisurely cozy mystery read. This was a bit of a slow read for me, but it was pleasant. Fiona and Petunia find themselves at the Reading ski lodge for a town event when a prominent member of the town is murdered. Much to Fee’s surprise Crew allows her to aid in the investigation. My gripe with this novel is the same as the first, the overuse of sarcastic internal monologue from Fee specifically the overuse of Thank you very much when she is trying to be sassy in this internal monologue. Would have loved to see a bit more of Petunia in this one, I did find myself a few chapters in wondering wait where did the Pug go? I'm happy to keep reading this series and looking forward to seeing where Patti takes it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I feel even closer to Fee than I did when I read book one. The fact that Fee was able to piece together things that her Father and Crew were unable to makes me smile. I am looking forward to reading book 3.

I really enjoyed reading this. I found it easy to get completely absorbed into the story & again I loved Petunia. she reminds me so much of my own pug.
This is easy to read & get into. perfect after a hard day at work.
I will definitely be reading more.

This book was a bit easier to read than the first one, although the writing was still a bit awkward. Some of the sentences were very long (50 - 60+ words) and arranged in a way that I had to do a lot of pausing and rereading (and rearranging in my head, adding periods, semicolons, what have you). It is the English teacher in me-- I admit, I'm a grammar fanatic. That being said, I liked how Petunia follows Fiona everywhere, loved how supportive Fee was in her friendship with Daisy, and thought Mama Fleming was a hoot.

This series was the first one I tried that initially got me interested in cozy mysteries. I read the first one back in May of 2019 and I remember not enjoying it too much, but just enough that I wanted to try more in this genre.

I've had the 2nd one sitting on my shelf since I read the first and figured why not...let's read and see if I like it better. Nope

A cute cozy mystery

I’m really liking this series and look forward to book three. They’re easy to read and well written. I like that they aren’t gory. I did figure out who the murdered was again, but it didn’t make me want to stop reading.
