I loved the story and characters in this so much, there were just a couple lines that had me going "yup this was written a decade ago"

This was the first actual book I read in the post-apocalyptic genre, and was definitely well-worth my time. Almost 3 years later, this series remains one of my favorite.
Not only could I not put it down, but when I did, I found myself thinking about the characters- which is not typical for me, considering how much I read. The characters were well-developed (for the most part) and very relatable in any context, but placing them in a zombie-infused world made that world then become more believeable. It has more than a few "edge of your seat" moments intertwined with moments of sadness, joy and reflection.

This is a fun, fast read. Bit of a shallow story, but it works because it isn't trying to be anything else. I had a good time reading it and will most likely finish the series.

This was a strong start to the series, and hooked me enough that I tore through all three books in a weekend. This was probably a mistake because
the second and third books are so damn heavy
but I had to know what happened. ASAP!

My one criticism is how
Ana and Peter basically become different people by the end of the book
- it didn’t seem that believable to me.

Overall, a bit of a different take on the zombie apocalypse that I really enjoyed
