I didn’t like Finn at first so I left. Came back to it when it was mentioned in book 3 that their relationship had bondage dynamics, because…because. But immediately after their first kiss encounter he displayed the same asshole behavior I didn’t like in the first bits. Cracking repeated jokes about her being a nepo baby or lazy or having a fake major is basically negging. Obviously he doesn’t know what she’s going through but she started the conversation by saying her mother’s not feeling well and pushed back on the notion that her job is fake but he continued with the major. It’s lazy and not cute. He fucks up way more than her imo but she goes to him, she apologizes, and she has to remind him that he left her without bothering to check if she was pregnant. NOPE. He’s so much less appealing than his friends it’s wild.
Harlow’s situation isn’t very well explored as an element in their relationship so it almost feels pointless and when I remembered the age gap the dynamics felt even weirder in hindsight.

Dirty Rowdy Thing is a strong sequel to Sweet Filthy Boy. I adored Harlow and Finn, they had great banter and chemistry. Their chemistry was even better when they decided to be vulnerable with each other. Like Christina Lauren’s earlier work this one is spicy!! Highly recommend.
