big topics presented in a bite-size and easy to understand format. i appreciated the scope and how ideas that hinge on new-age spiritualism were presented in a way that avoided being overly woo-woo. might have to give it a second look physically to fully understand everything!

A bite sized collection of thoughts on the conscious mind. I read it one sitting and came away with an update vocabulary. It didn’t really blow my mind to radically change my perception of reality but it did make me feel like I could describe it with more accurate language.

Writing about such a complex, mind bending topic - consciousness - with this clarity is an incredible undertaking. It takes you on an inticing journey of discovery of what defines us!

This is really interesting and thought provoking. It's way over my head intellectually but I was really intrigued by the way she explained complex topics.

There are other books, even much briefer books (A Very Short Introduction to Consciousness by Susan Blackmore) that do a much better job at introducing the topic.
If you are interested in the topic and have already read around it, this book will bore you. If you are very new to the topic, I doubt the author's arguments will satisfy your curiosity or convince you of counterintuitive concepts such as the illusoriness of self and panpsychism.
