Bloody depressing but bloody good. Also, I feel like I was promised a story about a gay youth, but I actually got a story about an alcoholic mother. But that’s a marketing complaint, not a story complaint.

A slow start, but well rounded characters that kept me engrossed. Loved the dialect dialogue (esp in a time when traveling isn’t realistic)!
