I have been toting this around and renewing it from the library for months - so I finally figured I better give it a go. This is definitely not Gary Schmidt's best book but what he does so well is having people come together and help others in a way that makes me realize there are still really great people in the world that care. So although it was a little goofy - I was reminded of how much I do love his books. I think it's time to re-read Wednesday Wars and Okay For Now.

A far, far cry from "Lizzie Bright..." And "The Wednesday Wars". Very disappointing.

After reading The Wednesday Wars, this book was anything but what I expected. It was a lot more emotional and kind of cheesy.

I listened to the audiobook in one day, and this wasn’t on par with Gary D. Schmidt’s typical fare. I saw the ending pretty much from the start. There were no surprises and not enough heart. I could see this appealing to 9-11 year olds pretty well, but not much beyond that.

Entertaining story, but too many frustrating loose ends.

An o.k. book. The author dragged the story on way too long. I already knew what the outcome was going to be. Just read the title!!!

This book does not have the same feeling of the other books by Schmidt that I have read. There is lots of politics and lots of action in this one but the gripping word choice is lacking here.
