This is a very good example of Ruth Ware's style. It keeps you guessing and really gets into the mind of the main character. A lot of reviewers will say this book could have been shorter, but Ware really gets in deep to the overthinking part of her characters. Being someone who is an overthinker, I can relate and enjoy this. It can feel like it's droning on if you want to just skip to the point. But if you want to feel the emotion of the characters, you'll probably enjoy it. I've read most of Ware's books at this point and this is an excellent book in her catalog. I can usually guess who did it, but this one kept me guessing.

The last 120 pages is when I finally started to care about what was happening. This story really didn’t need to be 420 pages long.

This was okay, but not the author's best. The twists were pretty obvious and I had it figured out early. But I still enjoyed it and it was a page turner for sure!

I’ve read two of her books now and they both have a slow start that eventually draws me in. This one took about 200 pages for me to get hooked but it does keep you guessing. I’m still confused at her husband’s response to the question “Did you kill April?” And even more confused that after everything that happened with Hugh, Hannah and Will are totally fine and happily in love in the end?? If I thought my husband was a murderer and tried to prove it, I’d imagine there’d be a rocky road if we wanted to get back together. Overall I like her writing style and will likely read more of her books but I haven’t found one that I totally love yet.
