Buen libro, entretenido y corto, solo hay algunas obvedades que bien podrían ser omitidas, de ahí en fuera es es un buen libro de un buen autor, pespero que salgan más libros de el U.U

The puzzle is intriguing, but both the writer and the narrator seem to be trying too hard. Moreover, a few of the deductions seemed to take the investigators longer than they should have.
audiobook note: Narrator George Newbern just has a rather ordinary voice, and the strain shows when he tries to distinguish characters.

En un primer momento, me costo adaptarme a la pluma del autor, ya que este aporta detalles que considero que no son relevantes para la trama; pero una vez me acsotumbré a ella, la lectura se me hizo bastante ligera.
En general el crimen y su resolución me han gustado mucho, y la historia me ha ido enganchado más conforme avanzaba haciendo que durante las últimas páginas apenas pudiese dejarlo.

Ευχάριστο στην ανάγνωση, ενδιαφέρον το χτίσιμο της υπόθεσης στην αρχή, προβλέψιμη συνέχεια και τέλος, τα συνήθη κλισέ παρόντα, καλό αλλά όχι κάτι το ιδιαίτερο.

I was actually looking forward to reading this, and man am I disappointed.
The things I didn't like were firstly and most importantly the writing! If there wasn't a picture of the author I would have guessed that this book was written by a 15 year old. If you can ignore all the cliches *rolls eyes* and the repetitions and you don't give two cents about it you shall be fine. I wasn't.
Other than that, I was let down by the killer. See John Verdon literally offered the killer's identity in a plate if you were paying close attention. And I hate it when I am able to figure out who the killer is and by no means am I trying to sound cocky. I love to be surprised but it didn't happen this time.
Last but not least, the action. The first half of the book took the longer to read because it was flat. The second part I finished it in a day but when the story started to unfold I got bored again. If a book doesn't make your blood run cold and keep you at the edge of the seat how on earth can you enjoy it to the fullest?
The characters were interesting though.
To sum up, if you are looking for a fine book to pass your time pick it up. If you demand more than that then this book is not for you.

El llibre es interessant, l’únic que he trobat i per el qual he posat aquesta puntuació és que l’he trobat bastant descriptiu i el principi de la història se m’ha fet llarg, pesat.
A part de aquests dos punts és un llibre amb un fil que quan el pilles t’enganxa i té girs amb els que et quedes sorpresa

David Gurney, un policía jubilado, se encuentra ante un nuevo reto cuando un antiguo compañero de universidad contacta con él para decirle que ha estado recibiendo cartas. La que más le llama la atención es la que le pide que piense en un número, y el remitente lo acierta.
Esta obra me ha sido muy difícil de terminar ya que no me enganchó en ningún momento.
Si que podía haber algún capítulo que hiciese que quisiera continuar, pero al final el coger el libro era casi más un deber que un querer.
Finalmente, he conseguido terminarlo, y he de decir que la historia no está tan mal.
Los personajes están bien descritos, y también su complejidad; la trama va a un ritmo perfecto para que no haya un parón en cuanto a nuevas pistas par el caso; y el desenlace es en ciertamente inesperado, aunque creo que mucha gente lo acertó antes que yo.
Sin embargo, algo ha habido que no me ha llamado la atención, y por lo tanto no creo que continúe la saga.

Fácil de leer, que lo mínimo que se le pide al un thriller, pero no me ha llegado a enganchar. Al personaje protagonista parece que se le ha querido forzar una profundidad a base de tragedias pasadas, pero no llega a cuajar, suenan forzados sus pensamientos, y a veces rayando en lo plañidero.
Ni los personajes ni la historia llegan a marcar, fácil de leer e igual de fácil de olvidar una vez lo terminas.

Ha sido una lectura apasionante. Aunque el ritmo es algo lento por momentos, están las páginas tan cargadas de misterio y de suspense que no puedes evitar seguir leyendo para saber qué va a ocurrir. Y es que todo empieza con un pequeño suceso casi irrelevante, y acaba teniendo dimensiones gigantescas. He disfrutado de esta lectura como una niña pequeña, especialmente por la forma en que se plantea el caso y la aparente imposibilidad del mismo. También, resultan interesantes las subtramas, especialmente la del Dave Gurney y su constante guerra consigo mismo y con su pasado. No obstante, creo que esta misma se resuelve de manera demasiado bonita y feliz y no sé, eso no me ha terminado de convencer... Por otro lado, tampoco he sido una gran fan de esa letra tan pequeña de la edición, que, en varias ocasiones, me ha proporcionado dolores de cabeza. Son esos pequeñitos detalles los que han hecho que el libro se quede con 4 estrellas, pero, vamos, que es una lectura increíble y un desafío mental asombroso.
