It's ok but it's my least favorite AH book. I read quite a few of her later books and the growth is amazing. I can see the writer she eventually becomes but this was not the Alice Hoffman I am used to.

If you want to know why the writer’s guild strike is so important, read this book and then watch the movie. Totally different - perhaps rare instance of movie being better? But also, without WRITERS for screen, there is literally no way this book could be made into an engaging movie. Good to read, compare, appreciate the merits of both, and then to go cheer on screenwriter strike!

I wasn't digging the book too much. Maybe because I love the movie so much and it wasn't the same. The basic story line is the same but alot of details are different which threw me off.
