Fun - just like his others

Just like “Rich People Problems,” this was a fun and easy to read novel. Not life-changing literature but I totally enjoyed myself.

Fluffy, and a little wackier than the first one, but a total page turner.

I think the book was still pretty good, but it didn’t match the vibes of the first one and felt like it wasn’t focusing on the same things

I'm starting to understand why they're called "Crazy" Rich Asians.

Entertaining and a great escape from reality! The narrator for this book took some getting used to - some of the Singaporean characters like Eleanor sound totally different than in the 1st book. It was jarring that I contemplated stopping the series but the story was still entertaining and fun. Glad I kept reading, because it was a fun brain break!

Grabbed the second in the series....in hopes of ending up back in Indonesia drinking kelapa muda.

A second book full of ridiculous jet setters, budgets I could never even fathom, random trips to Paris for shopping...this time it takes place in Shanghai where Rachel reunites with her father and her half brother- drag racing, fist fights, elegant soirees....and crazy gossip.
I could never read this trilogy together- it is a bit too much, but it is fun- so I will finish the three.

Read if you enjoy Bling Empire on Netflix.

Much like its predecessor, China Rich Girlfriend is a meandering mess, but it is a fun and entertaining meandering mess. A lot of the problems from the previous book (the constant head jumping between POVs and the fact you could probably cut at least 100 pages if you took out the over the top descriptions, for two) remain pretty prominent in this book, but it doesn't stop this book from being super entertaining.

I don't think this one's as good as Crazy Rich Asians. It seemed kind of aimless for the most part without any sense of direction. It doesn't feel like there's even a real plot that any of the characters are overtly concerned with until about 75% of the way through. I also found Rachel, who was pretty much the star of the previous book, to unfortunately lack page time while also feeling kind of dumbed down from her previous appearance.

All that is inconsequential though because this book serves its purpose in reminding us all just how poor we really are and it does it in a way that's never boring, and that's pretty much all you could ask of a book that's just mindless and trashy fun.

4 stars on my second read. I thought it was a good continuation of the characters!
