It was alright

Here's the thing, while these two had some fun banter and steamy sex scenes first there aren't enough scenes where you see the softer side of Preston. Additionally he sexually harasses her and sexualized her in the work place from day one and that's not okay. I don't like the idea of someone younger reading this and thinking the behavior he displays for her is ever okay in a work place environment. He regularly humiliates her in public and for the majority of the book he behaves like a controlling asshole who thinks he has the right to put his hands on her person in any way he chooses. Her second job with Marriott is obvious sexual discrimination and she doesn't do a damn thing about it. I mean she might be snarky but by staying in a workplace environment like either of those and not taking the legal action she should have I don't see her as strong.

I FINALLY FINISHED MY READING GOAL!!!
-
What the hell was this book?!

Tara:
- Got on my nerves at point (most actually)
- Nothing else really only she got on my nerves.

Preston:
- Needs to be humble.
- Cocky and arrogant please sit down.

I’m gonna say it and y’all won’t like it but I hate enemies to lovers and this just confirmed it.
This book was a quick read since I did read it on my phone.
The ending was very rushed and just quick.
The betrayal was baffling like it wasn’t a bad betrayal to me but at least Tara got her karma but got the job she wanted I guess…
AND THE FASHION CHOICES IN THIS BOOK IS AWFUL LIKE GREY AND PINK??
NUDE AND GRAY?!
NUDE DRESS WITH RED HEELS WHAT IS THAT?!
And the friend is in the fashion industry and couldn’t help with the clothing?!

Overall 2/5 stars this book was just not smart nor good but at least it beats Hoover books any day-

This was good and I really liked the characters…. BUT I hate the time jumps. I like my books to have straight forward time progression. Jumping around dulls the story for me.

This dude is just an asshole and she forgave him way too quickly for my taste. The only reason I finished this book is because I was procrastinating and I needed an excuse. Otherwise I would’ve dropped it after the second chapter.

i am sorry am I supposed to feel sympathetic toward an asshole who doesnt understand the necessity of personal life and professional life, or that he doesnt care to realize the mental physical stress his employees are going through, who thinks just because he is rich as fuck so he gets to have the right to be pretentious asshole and a douchebag, just because his family was killed, he doesnt have the ability understand emotions so he tortures others because of it, or that he took care of the female mc's allergy behind her back because i am sorry i think i have grown into the person who can differentiate between toxicity and what's healthy. maybe my 15 year old self would have enjoyed this.

the smut sucked too. no romance, no sex, no chemistry. ugh

A really fun read.
I am a little bit bothered by the white small print, because that is so not legal.. but oh well.
The book ended a little bit abruptly, I was hoping for a little bit more of their relationship.
Really long slow burn.. and then black out to epilogue.

Still 5* because I really enjoyed it.
