Un avvincente thriller/horror psicologico, ambientato nell'industria del sesso giapponese. Un libro abbastanza esplicito, che contiene anche alcune scene particolarmente cruente. L'ambientazione è adeguata per creare l'atmosfera giusta per la storia che l'autore vuole raccontarci e la premessa è buona.
La creazione e l'aumento della tensione è graduale, per cui l'inizio è una delle parti più deboli del libro, per quanto rimanga interessante. Il problema, però, per me è stato il finale, in quanto l'ho trovato insoddisfacente e troppo aperto per i miei gusti.

Nel complesso ho trovato la lettura di quest'opera interessante, a tratti addirittura estremamente coinvolgente, ma il finale aperto e qualche dubbio sul modo in cui viene parlato delle malattia mentale nella storia, non mi permettono di darli una valutazione maggiore.
