Okay read. Not as exciting as I would have expected with it being about pirates, but it was good.

A truly lovely read. Very predictable at times, hence the 4 star rating, but wonderfully woven with historical detail and fact. An exciting read about two female pirates and how they defied all odds to protect each other and find adventure.

Still my absolute favourite book, even after almost ten years. I love it to the bone!

A pretty quick listen, well developed characters and relationships, with a meandering plot. I wasn’t convinced by the love story side-plot, but it wasn’t annoying. Overall an enjoyable read.

Third time reading this and I still love it. The fact that I've read it for the third time in much the same way and excitement as I did the first time says a lot. Somehow the story doesn't get old and I will probably enjoy it a fourth and even a fifth time.

It's light reading (as YA usually is), which makes it very pleasant. The story itself is adventurous and has two fierce female leads that any young girl should look up to.

Found this one on the young adult fiction shelf, and it was a surprisingly sophisticated and enjoyable read!

No memory, but I read this in elementary and I know it was definitely the start of loving pirates.

This book will always have a special place in my heart. It's the first book that taught me a lot that I didn't already know about pirates, and it's jus a lot of fun. I even really enjoy the way it's written. I've probably reread it more than any book I own. But more and more, I'm realizing how much I've been outgrowing this book. That's only natural. It came out when I was 12 and I'm almost 30 now. But it's definitely showing its age, especially in terms of the way racism issues are written.

I'll keep it on my shelf for a bit longer but I don't think I'll have very many more rereads with this one.
