This was a really enjoyable read. The title grabbed me from the library shelf. It’s written as old newspaper column with commentary written. About the lives she touched, those connected to her through the newspaper, their lives and their trials. It is rather liberal - with recipes.

I love reading authors from our state of MN! This book was an easy read. Everyone loved Haze, but she wasn’t my favorite character. I thought she was just too one-dimensional. I liked Sam.

I'll give it 4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed this book but it didn't quite rise to my favorites. Haze was a very good writer. I would have read her columns if they were real. Although I agreed with all of her political and social positions, the book was a little heavy handed with them.

Love the concept of the story, but struggled to get through it

I'm sure it's a fine book. I just found the style hard to get into. Life's too short, right?

This one is a mixed bag. The first part of the book I enjoyed but then it took a turn to a "beat you over the head" with certain views. I prefer books that make me think and let me reach my own conclusions and convictions. I was really disappointed, but I did finish it.
