Hrm, finally read this book after watching the movie for almost 20 years. I could see both movies in here so that was fun. It was a bit predictable but that's my fault not the books fault. Might try to read the second one but we'll see.

This is a tricky one to write, I loved it but the question is why? Honestly, I think it's because of the portrayal of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka in the movie. Yeah, the book is nothing like the movie in fact the Johnny Depp one is closer to the book in both tone and content but the late Gene Wilder will always be Willy Wonka for me. It feels wrong to like a book because of the nostalgia that it brings out in myself. I had originally given it 4 stars but knocked it down one, because if push came to shove I wouldn't choose to read this again.
