I liked the characters in this but I’m not sure the topic of sexual assault fits with the style of this series- which is generally lighthearted, quick reads, and simple. It felt like a lot of the realities of dealing with sexual assault were glossed over and things moved quite quick. Also, I didn’t feel like Owen’s experiences were ever really talked about or dealt with.

I liked this better then first book Becca and Owen have a great chemistry and I liked reading about them. Definitely ready to jump onto Teddy and Sara's book.

I really did love this book and I love how much Owen helped Becca and how much they trusted each other. I've read better hockey books and series, but it was good and an easy read. Their friendship then love really made me smile and I was happy while reading it, but I felt like I was pushing through at the end. It's still good though and a cute read.

This book was cute. Becca’s past was upsetting , but something a lot of women deal with, so it was nice to read about something real like that. And then finding out why Owen is the way he is, is also something that happens to younger men. So it was nice to be able to read about real things that occur in life. And it was done in a nice way where it wouldn’t be upsetting to anyone.

So everyone else has really covered the storyline, which I think is great. It was handled well and as someone who has had a SA in their past, I think it was handled pretty well.

What I found really weird is how Owen’s “sexual preferences” were handled. It’s treated almost like he’s a Christian Gray Lite because he like light spanking and calling the shots? It was super vanilla and they made a huge deal out of it. Of course it was a conversation for him to have with her because of her past, but it was honestly weird to me how it was handled. And how she was implying there is something wrong with him for liking that but she loves him anyway, that’s really not cool either. People just like what they like. And to THEN add on that backstory of his as an “explanation” for it (which is crazy, no one needs an explanation for the things they like with consenting partners in the privacy of their own homes. . Or wherever) and do nothing with that . . . I didn’t like it at all.

I did like the book overall so I kind of just cringed and moved on, but I have read several reviews and none of them mentioned this. Maybe I’m crazy but I found it pretty problematic.
