Lots of pirates, lunacy, and how it’s the people on the fringes that hold a moral compass than those in charge. Plus the mouths are huge!
Graphic: Bullying, Child abuse, Death, Gun violence, Violence, Murder, Alcohol, and War
Moderate: Body shaming, Cursing, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Slavery, Torture, Blood, Kidnapping, and Classism
Minor: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Body horror, Fatphobia, Self harm, Sexism, and Injury/Injury detail
This text deals with treason, corruption, abusive work environments, mutiny, amputated limbs, bullet wounds, imprisonment, and piracy (of course).purplehulk713's review against another edition

It was so interesting and so disturbing all at the same time. The chaos of the plot combined with the chaos of the anime art style made this manga mesmerizing to read. Luffy’s powers are creepy, and while they’re very useful, they’re rather disgusting to look at, but I guess that still made it a good spectacle if nothing else. I loved Zolo, his ultimate escape, and their toppling of Captain Morgan and his horse’s ass of a son. It was so satisfying. I really didn’t care for Luffy or Koby though, beyond their noble character motivations. I wasn’t enchanted enough to keep going with this series or to pick up the anime, but it was a wonderful standalone piece even if so. It was more graphic than I expected it to be, also, but I think I’m just not used to that yet because this was only my second manga. Basically, I would read it again, but it was off-putting enough that I wouldn’t make an effort to go on with the series, despite its incredible spectacle.
