- It's finally time to start One Piece!! I checked out the Netflix show because it sounded good and the next thing I know I'm obsessed with the world and characters π The number of manga volumes (and anime episodes) is intimidating, but I had to check out the source material! I'm slowly making my way through all the content and I'm excited to dive deeper into this world π©·
- The story starts off by introducing us to Luffy, a goofy teen whose body is made out of rubber and therefore impervious to blunt attacks! He got this ability by eating a devil fruit ... but now he's incapable of swimming. I loved the flashbacks to when he was a young boy and idolized Shanks, a kind pirate who inspired Luffy to become a different kind of pirate!
- Luffy is determined to become the king of the pirates and seeks out to gather a crew. First up is the swordsman Zoro, who's imprisoned at a marine base for defying them! Luffy isn't willing to let him rot there, as he's in need of a good fighter for his crew π
