Vivek Shraya, author, and Ness Lee, illustrator, have beautifully rendered a transformation of hate into art.

I didn't come to this book already knowing who the author was, so I feel it would have been way more interesting if the story was expanded to include more of her life. The illustrations are punchy, contemporary, and fresh. The text and story itself fell flat.

You had to smile when the hateful person sent their cease and desist letter after they learned they would be outed and it was rightfully deleted. If only all hateful people sending death threats could be publicly outed.
