This book is fascinating and provides insight into some fields that otherwise remain hidden: internet dating, for example. For someone like me (coldly logical most of the time!) Ayres' hypothesis is very appealing. The subtlety missing through most of the book is that anything can be predicted... as long as the past is a good indication of what the future will be like. Otherwise not.
