Five different stories of five different women. Each story implies that love is not all roses, a million I-love-you's and kisses, and they lived happily ever after. The stories showed unrequited love, being with the right person at the wrong time, wrong because of what the norm dictates, or simply because it's just wrong. That out of five people, only one will have a happy ending. Despite the sad stories, the quirky main characters and the comical dialogues made the book an entertaining and amusing read. Ricky Lee's writing was light and relatable. Just when you thought that the story is going to end, something lurks in, and the main characters had to either find a way through it or just accept their tragic fate. When I finished reading the book, it felt like I wanted to sit down with the main characters one last time and ask them if they are indeed OK. And it would be a relief if they really are.🥲💖

My first Ricky Lee, and it kind of deterred me to the rest of his novels. I didn't like the writing style but the overall concept of the short stories all connected together pretty nicely.
