How great would life be if we could just ride bikes, cook food and talk bollocks?

I'm a relative latecomer to the Hairy Bikers' world, having come across their daytime series Food Tour of Britain on repeat and then last year's Baltic adventure. I love their enthusiasm and down-to-earth style, as well as their obvious affection for food, motorbikes, and each other's company!

This memoir is styled with Si and Dave writing alternate chapters. Both had warm but difficult childhoods with parental illness, poverty and bullying all playing a large part. They were well into their respective careers - Dave Myers was an experienced make-up artist while Si King had been a location scout moving up to assistant director - when they met on the filming of a Catherine Cookson drama.

Their story's very well-written and entertaining. So nice to read a "celebrity memoir" of ordinary guys who've slogged their guts out, faced plenty of genuine adversity and have achieved their dream. Long may they continue.

A beautiful, thought provoking read. Not ashamed to admit I cried at points. Two really gripping stories of two friends who combined to become a beloved TV double act. This has genuine heart and is a magnificent read. You come away thinking that both of them deserve every bit of success they have had in life

A surprisingly nice read, certainly not what I expected from a celebrity autobiography. As thoroughly entertaining as the TV shows.

Aw I had a tear in my eye from page 6! I’ve always loved this duo and as a daughter of a hairy biker I feel like really get them! I’m also from Aberdeenshire where a good section of this book is placed so that was fun! I tried to get my dad to read it but “he doesn’t read”
