This book gave you somewhat of an insight into the world through the eyes of someone with autism. Being friends with an autistic person myself I believe this boy has a very severe type of autism. This book was ok and I probably learned dozens of math facts I could've gone without. You really get to know the main character but at some points it's like "What!?!!". Like he spit on his hands because there was nothing to wash them with in the bathroom, that part made me want to puke. Aghh! I also really think this book shouldn't be classified as a mystery because you find out who kills the dog halfway through the book. If the author wanted this to actually be a mystery he could've totally made it one but he went in a different direction thus this story should not be classified as a mystery whatsoever. At some points, especially the end, I felt so bad for Christopher. I mean there was a LOT of dramatic irony going on and it was just like 'Please don't do that!' or 'That's not the way to ride the subway!' He has some major family issues too and I think if I were in his position I would go live with a friend or on my own but because he is autistic he doesn't have skills the rest of us have to live on our own. It really disables him but I like how everything sorts out in the ending and was somewhat pleasant but I will definitely never read this book again.

Beautiful. This book reminded me of the TED talk "The danger of a single story". Being in Christopher's world was a privilege. Witnessing his brilliance, his courage and his massive heart felt like a blessing. Seeing how vulnerable his truth makes him was scary. Really felt like I could welcome him, probably on my drive, because stranger danger would not allow him to come in for a tea
