I almost didn’t read this one, bc it’s set in high school, with 17 and 18 year old MCs. In the end, it was mostly okay. Up until 85%, it’s almost chaste, with the romance sort of held at arm’s length, as the omega MC is at a group home to escape his mom’s gross Alpha boyfriend. Given the tone of the most of the rest of the book, I thought this one was going to be ftb with an epilogue or something, but no, they do be smashing. I’m more interested in the next two books, so we can chalk this one up to ‘I had a moment of completionism’ (There is a ROUGH backstory on one of the other kids at the house, also.)
