This installment was fantastic. It opens with the story of a nun manipulated into becoming a spy for a little while, and in doing so, really fleshes out the world-building. There was a great mix of feudal politicking mixed with female-led kick-ass action.

Clearly the best dytopian SF comic going. Great characters, incredible world building. I don't know why there's not more buzz for this book, because it's right up there with the best that Image has to offer.

In the future, society is ruled not by governments, but by wealthy families. Across the globe, these families vie for power and wage war upon each other by any means possible. You are either a working subject, valued and put to work, or you are Waste...left to the elements and considered utterly worthless.
This is a good series & I just wish I'd discovered it after the entire story had been written. Waiting for subsequent volumes is horrible!

The Hock family has created a terrible virus & the other families must capture a sample to create a treatment before it's unleashed upon the world. The head of the Carlyle family, Malcolm, is still in decline from the specialized poison from Hock. Hock is also close to taking a key city from Carlyle & they must send their specially bred & trained Lazarus soldier, Forever, to aid in the defense. Malcolm's son Stephen must now make all the decisions & assure their allies that they are strong enough to send assistance in their fights.

This world guys. This world.

The thought and planning that goes into a world like this just astounds me. Getting an insight into all the different families and how they operate at the end of each issue is fascinating.

This volume hasn't been my favourite so far but I just love how in depth the world goes. Forever is one of my favourite characters in comics so far.

OK continuation, kind of mostly bang-bang-shoot-em-up action so I got a little bored. Enjoying the dynamic of Forever and Casey though, and the couple little twists that popped up; but all in all it wasn't as interesting as previous volumes.
