There was an interesting set of circumstances leading each group to the hostel in totally different ways. It set things up to be quite intriguing, and there were some stories I particularly wanted to follow (Savannah's, for example).

The pace slowed a little in the middle, which I guess is a pitfall from having so many interlocking stories that needed a lot of background. And I was invested enough to want to know what was happening, but I felt the change in pace.

By the end I was keen to learn how everyone's story was going to wrap up, though it was a little disjointed because of all the different strands. I enjoyed some of the unexpected connections between characters, and some were downright shocking! It was a fun read but the set up took a while to get used to.

The hook and feeling like I’m on the edge of my seat that I’m used to with Marrs books wasn’t there for me with this one and I need something else right now but will circle back.

I found this book very confusing. There were too many main characters and too many different timelines all unorganized throughout the book. I did audiobook this one, making it even harder to follow. Everything did intertwine well in the end and many of the previous stories made more sense as their connections were revealed, however, I was still disappointed overall. Would be better as a movie or organized in a more logical manner.

This was good but it felt disjointed. I think it had too many POVs and side plots.

Spoilerplus it felt like the only connection all of the characters had was where they stayed and that they were travelling.</spoilers>

Thank you to the publisher for a fee Netgalley.

I love Marrs' books. I have read many of them, and usually devour them. This one however is not doing it for me at all. I find the intertwining of past and present to be annoying especially with such short chapters. There are also a ton of characters and to be honest, I just don't care what happens to them. I never really like Marrs' characters, as he is a genius at writing unlikable characters that you still read to find out what happened. But not these ones. I prefer Marrs' sci-fi thrillers myself.
