Sweet, simple, ultra-short stories. Fantastical and fun. Not much substance. Good for reading in two minute stretches while wrangling a three year old.

A compilation of unusual short stories to satisfy every appetite

To The Victor comprises of fourteen short stories from very different perspectives, be it a three-hundred-year-old oak tree, a Beowulf, a cave, a unicorn and even a feral refrigerator; amongst others.

The stories are captivating, original and well written, leaving me wondering about the amazing imagination of the author who came up with such diverse storylines.

Without giving too much away, I warn the reader not to anticipate outcomes and endings. Things are not always as they seem nor do all the stories comply with the usual expectations of redemption or triumph that we have come to expect from books, tv and movies.

My only complaint is that I would have liked some of the stories to be longer.

I highly recommend ‘To The Victor’ to someone looking for an interesting, fun and uncustomary variety of stories.

If you like tales of magical creatures, emotional appliances and everything in between then this is the book for you!

The stories in this collection are as different as they are many. Everyone should find at least one story that just speaks to them on a deeper level. Some of them are happy, some of them are sad and some have that little bit of extra darkness that I personally love in my books.

Her writing style is beautiful, whimsical and funny. She writes in such a way that I feel like I am right there in the middle of the story and I can picture everything that is going on.

I highly enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more of her work.
