Extremely happy this book exists. The title and subtitle are very misleading - this is a mix of memoir and interviews from a decidedly transfemme lense. And I found the interviews themselves much more engaging than the author's interjections and the way she framed her thoughts...felt like some navel-gazing that didn't add much and I found myself wanting to hurry on to the next interview.

That said, I found it informative, hopeful, and tender-loving to read through so many of the interviews and reflections. It was the first thing I've read with so much frank discussion and detail about sexual intimacy and gender confirmation surgery.

A great book for the unsure queer, trying to find some stories to find themselves in. My main issue with the book I think comes from the title. As a book that has QUEER SEX in huge letters across the cover, and says it's a guide to intimacy and pleasure, I was left a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing for what it is! The book interviews various trans people in their experiences of sex and relationships. I think if you haven't had these conversations before or heard these kinds of stories before you will benefit from reading them here, but if like me you've chatted with quite a few friends about your intersections of transness and sex already, then you might not find much new info.

I came to this book looking for information and perhaps some pointers. I found some wonderful stories that resonated, but not many new revelations.
A wonderful book, but just not my vibe.

Definitely misguided marketing/title. I knew this was a collection of interviews but I didn’t realize that it would be cantered around the author’s own sexual journey and other trans women, specifically older women. There’s nothing wrong with that but I think I would have enjoyed it a LOT more if i knew that going in! But because I didn’t it left me feeling a little annoyed and confused at the author constantly circling back to herself.
