3.5 stars - This was not a bad book (it was very cute at times, actually) but more than half of the book is the main character hiding her engagement, emotionally cheating, blaming others for her relationship problems, and complaining about her fiancé. It's a fun look at the behind the scenes of the flight attendant lifestyle, and could have been a great romcom if not for this.

4.5 of 5 stars. Cute rom-com. Made me laugh and caught me off guard, too. A bit chaste romantic writing but sweet (and a bit spicy) still. I grew up traveling and I’ve admired the profession since a kiddo, so I enjoyed the walk thru of the life of a flight attendant. Lacie’s writing and just her words spoke to me in ways only true wanderers would understand. I wish we could read the story from Jack’s perspective now.

4.5/5 but I rounded up!
This was a super cute read! For a debut novel, I thought it was really well written and lacked the usual first-time mistakes in grammar/etc. that usually turns me off. I liked all of the characters (except, obviously, Alexander bleh), which is often unusual for me, as side-characters usually have some unnecessary and annoying personality trait. Also, I loved that all the in-plot drama wasn’t soley based on a stupid lack of communication. I’m so tired of people not speaking their truths in rom-coms that cause so much unnecessary drama. This was a bit more nuanced than that and I’m sooo thankful lol!
TBH my only complaint is that I wished there was some more closure between Ava and Alexander. He got on a plane to see her and while it was rushed because of in-plot time constraints, I felt like it could have been better wrapped up. Would have loved to see Ava look back on her growth from Alexander and the conclusion of their relationship. Also, while I liked the epilogue, I wished there was something more from Ava and Jack? It was, however, a lot better than most rom-com epilogues, which always feature marriage and a baby as the happily ever after.
I can’t wait to see what Lacie Waldon comes up with next!! (:

The Good:
-Eddie and Celeste: Can we get their book instead?
-Jack Stone: He was cute, but almost too charming, you know?
The Bad:
-Ava: I just didn't like her. She was very negative and angry. For someone who was supposed to be portrayed as kind and caring, I only saw her acting a fool.
-Ex-Finance Plot?: Not a fan of this. I prefer a clean break, and this makes it feel like Jack was a rebound or the cause of the breakup. It would have been better for her to make the realization on her own.
The Verdict:
It was ok. I don't know if I will read more by Waldon.
