super fun!! some really strong characters, a lovely romance, and just enough tension/conflict to keep u stressing. also?? HOT???? we DO NOT get enough well written explicit WLW sex and this book delivers and delivers FREQUENTLY, JFC. also love love love that said sex avoids rlly any pitfall of  age gap or WLW stuff: they both get chances to be assertive, they laugh and joke, they are both fully aware of what they’re getting into and Enthusiastically consent, they truly do care for each other’s pleasure and well being even before they rlly Care for Each Other, again it is EXPLICIT rather than weird vague metaphors, and they get to own their horniness!!! no passive actors here!!! rlly rlly good, liked a whole lot. if i had to ding for anything it’d be that
parker still not knowing by the 70% mark had me about throw up from anxiety lmfao but obv i made it. also the ending was a lil excessively goopy but it’s a romance so duh. also sapphic couples double proposing ftw

also
kept bracing for cassie’s mom to show up but never happened and honestly? LOVE. the conflict would have been completely unnecessary and i was dreading it the Entire book just for it not to happen bc why would it, the author ACTUALLY MEANT IT when she said cassie’s mom isn’t in her life and the narrative is completely cool with that. OBSESSED, PLS TAKE NOTE @ ANYONE ELSE WRITING FAMILY TRAUMA

Devoured this! Erin and Cassie are so sweet (and spicy) together and I enjoyed reading about them so much. Besides them, this whole book is filled with sapphic background couples and that made me so so happy.

Their relationship developed in a natural way (meaning they tried staying away from each other but didn't succeed at all) and the pacing of it really made sense.

I wish we had more exploration of Erin and Cassie's jobs and like...passions besides making out with each other. I was alright with it but be prepared that this is very much a romance-y romance!

The Inevitable Drama™ was handled way better than I've seen in other romances in this trope and everything was just really feel-good in the end.

And god the sex scenes?? So good! And so much variety 🥵 gimme more

it's cute!  it's not earth-shattering, it's not as good as their first novel, but it's cute!

This was everything I wanted! I loved the longing and forbiddingness of dating a friends mom. I also loved all the side characters, especially Acacia, she's the friend of the year.

It was so close to a full 5. But the ending didn't have enough emotion for my personal liking

This was a steamy, silly, heartfelt Sapphic romance that had a really great audiobook and some solid characters across the board. I didn't always like every character but they were never boring and there was never a dull moment plot-wise. It was dramatic and funny with a lot of heart at the center of it.

So I have to admit, I love an age gap trope (so long as we are still talking of consenting adults of course!). And this book put that trope into a fun, steamy, and sapphic story that was a great read. I laughed and I longed for them. Cassie and Erin just had this irresistible chemistry that was almost tangible. The age gap is quite big, but it made sense why they would still be attracted to each other on multiple levels.
I guess the only thing I wished I as a reader had more insight into was Parker, Erin's daughter and Cassie's best friend who finds out quite early on that they're dating, but it doesn't get talked about until after everything is already resolved and Parker is already ok with it. I wish the conflict with her had happened on page and would have created just a bit more of a stir in the story.
While i love seeing my sapphics happy and in love, I also think it could have used a bit more of that conflict we only get at the end.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of this year and I'm disappointed... the biggest issue I had with this book was the pacing -- first there is no tension, no build up (even after the first encounter), then the story jumps sometimes weeks, sometimes months ahead, I was half time confused how much time has passed or not, and also who is even talking. The two women kind of blended together,  because the secondary characters (aka their best friends) were little two dimensional. The friends were all kinds of assholish, Parker taking the a-hole crown right away. There is a lot of sex, which is fine, but if you combine it with a rushed conclusion which was unrealistic at best, I just can't help myself but feel disappointed.

I really wanted some tension, pining for each other because of the 'taboo' aspect of the story, but they ignored the problem and just sneaked around. They gave in pretty much right away and that is not something I wanted to read about nor it was really interesting. I was bored for most of the book because of how horny it was... they have sex, we get it. And for it to have "rom-com" in the blurb, this was not funny... like at all. Instead, you get messy friendship drama, or a side of creepy ex-husband because why not.
