This has potential but the last 100 pages were just... A Choice...
like how she got Jamie out of his trauma 'funk' and then only realising that because she knows the future for the time, she has a duty or maybe not to do something??? Just came out of nowhere.
i also found the writing at times to be dense and a slog to get through all of the descriptions and another thing
so much sexual harassment? Like did it have to be almost every male character?? Such an uncomfortable time

If by this point you haven't heard of Outlander, you've been living under a rock. I'm not going to add anything meaningful in my review here that hasn't been said before.

I really enjoyed this! I listened to it as an audiobook and the parts that would've probably been tedious in book form still worked well that way. I'm up to season 5? 6? now and I really just wanted to go back to the Claire and Jamie of season 1 for some time <3

I took multiple breaks and listened to whole other audiobooks during this and I think that's how I didn't end up hating it 🙈 It is very long (obviously) but it is also very good. The writing is excellent and Claire is such a good main character.

Would recommend, even if you've already watched the series :) I still enjoyed it a lot

I loved every part of this book from front to back. It is now in the top spot for my favourite book.

The development of the love between Claire and Jamie is so touching and is a huge part of the story. There is constant twists and turns that made sure I didn’t want to put the book down. I also loved the historical references that Diana Gabeldon has put a lot of time into researching about. She has created a brilliant depiction of 18th century Scottish Highlands. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

What an adventure! This one took me nearly a month to finish because of the 1700s setting and the density of the writing, but I'm glad I did so. Jamie and Claire are just dreamy.

This is a reread as I needed an audiobook to listen to before bed that I didn’t have to 100% focus on.

As always it’s a favorite and I love listening to Davina narrate.

I think at nearly 35 years old it should be reading modern classic status as boy does it stand the test of time!

This book was a lot. Sometimes I had to put it down and walk away for a few hours. The story and the characters will be something I'll think about for a long time probably.

Audiobook narration: 5/5
