I'm a long-time fan of Gittemarie's Youtube channel and continue to watch her weekly content. Semi-acknowledged by her, this book is introductory to the topic of recycling and waste, not unlike Story of Stuff. While I did get some useful technical information about multiple types of recycling systems, it was information I'd already been exposed to on her Youtube channel (and other sustainability creators), and I think her primary audience ends up being people who fall in the same camp. Some of the zero waste swaps mentioned may eventually become outdated, as opposed to teaching skills about identifying products, which she has done in other forms since then. The quality of the book is gorgeous and the spreads are beautiful. It's a great choice if you have a friend who is interested in sustainability but wants to reflect at their own pace.

Not the deep dive I expected from Gittemarie. A beginners guide, which was not as informative for where I'm at. Solid book for beginners though

Chock full of good information but I already knew most of it from her YouTube channel.

This was actually really good and covered a lot of topics. I listened to it, and think it would be better in paper bc there are a lot of recipes and things I’d want to reference visually. Also the narrator really enunciated hard, which was a bit distracting
