It’s took me a minute to get into the book. The opening chapter starting in the midst of an action scene was a bit jarring. But once the setting came to life it was hard to put down! I really enjoyed the way the author built the story and threw magic in. I also really enjoyed the twists!

The constant betrayals got wearying, but Ryia's backstory was cool. I didn't love the ending since I was under the impression this was a standalone, but the ending didn't read that way at all.

So glad they are having a sequel, as the ending was not sufficient for a stand alone!

Seems very much liked Six of Crows, but with less likable characters..
