Absolutely delightful!

These short stories read like character sketches of various fairy tales and fantasies. My personal favorites were Ride the Dragon, and Faerie. So very nice to leave the grim darkness behind for a little while. Fast read.

A set of enchanting, thought-provoking tales that merely leaves me wanting more stories of the fantastic. This was a quick, but great read. Some stories are admittedly more intriguing than others, but I enjoyed the whole book.

A collection of stories set in the modern world with a fantasy twist. Even when they have darker themes, fairytales in general usually have some sense of wonder and hope, but these stories felt pointless, cynical, and hopeless. Do not recommend.

Content: at least one swear word and the beginning of a profanity, mentions of rude gestures, multiple references to alcoholic beverages

There are quite a few tales compiled here. A lot more than the blurb let's on.

Each tale is fantastically written and extremely engaging. Just to warn you though, they all tend to leave you wanting more.

Overall this is a nice little collection.

I received a free copy of this book via Voracious Readers for a review.

I love short stories and these are well-written with a wonderful dash of faerie. These are very short stories and you can either read the book in a short time, or if you need a break for a few minutes from the world, read a story or two. Very enjoyable either way.

A bit unsure about this book. Loved some of the stories, others felt a bit unfinished. Still an enjoyable and quick read.

These tales are fairly short, with most of the stories that comprise this book taking less than 5 minutes to read. Many of the stories are retellings of older stories, ranging from Rumpelstiltskin to the Trojan War on the eve of the battle between Achilles and Hector.

They are remarkably well-done. The book is free on Amazon, while the stories are worth much more than that. So, run over to Amazon and download this wonderful book.

Best collection of fairy tale reimaginings and short fantasy stories I've read so far. Some of them are set in your traditional fantasy setting while others are set in modern times. It's a quick, easy read but thanks to the author's skill you'll be sad when it's over. Highly recommend!

This is a very cute collection of unconventional fairytales! All were a good length, short enough to offer just a glimpse of magic but still long enough to be engaging. I especially liked the story about the troll who wanted to see the sunrise, it was my favorite!

I love every single fairy tale in this wonderful collection. Cathleen Townsend did an outstanding job on improving some of my old favorites and a few that I had not heard before. I highly recommend it and if you go to her website, cathleentownsend.com, and join her newsletter (correct as of today, 9/5/18) you will receive a free copy of her novelette, Stolen Legacy. I have not had a chance to read it yet but I am definitely looking forward to beginning later this week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
