Overall, a good romantic suspense, but a little short on the chemistry or romance.

Bethany Sanchez transfers to the violent crimes division of the FBI and is partnered with Thatcher Graves, an agent who previously sent her brother to jail.

This does not cause a conflict for the two. Bethany is a by the book agent, while Thatcher works more off his gut feeling. This causes more disagreements than anything else.

Against the rules, the agents come to respect and admire each other while hunting for a serial killer with ties to Bethany's brother. The admission or discussion of their feelings for each other comes about rather suddenly and without anything more than an instance or two of hand holding.

This was the first book for me in DiAnn's FBI Houston series. I thought this was a great crime/drama book. Special Agent Bethany Sanchez and Special Agent Thatcher Graves seem to bump heads in the way they operate as agents. Graves does not care for the Sanchez's investigative style at all, he thinks she will not be able to watch his back, and will end up getting him killed.

Graves is a no nonsense, get the bad guy no matter what you have to do to succeed at doing so investigator, he don't mess around he gets right to the point, where as he thinks Sanchez's way of investigation has to be by the book or no go.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes then crime/drama genre.

I had the opportunity to read and review this book by Sourcebooks Fire publishing through NetGalley for an honest review.

The last book in the FBI: Houston series focuses on young FBI special agent Bethany Sanchez, who transfers into the violent crimes unit and is partnered with Thatcher Graves. The only problem is that Thatcher is the man who helped put her brother Lucas behind bars. Bethany and Thatcher are immediately thrust into a case that looks like a serial killing, with the signature being a specific gunshot to the head, along with a plastic Scorpion left on the body by what the media dubs as the "Scorpion killer". The pages kept turning and there was the predictable romance, but it was another enjoyable read from a longtime favorite author.

This is book three in this series, FBI Houston. We just right into things right from the start. Special Agent Bethany Sanchez is now working in violent crimes. Her new partner is Special Agent Thatcher Graves. Boom! They are now dropped into the midst of a serial killer case. But are these murders really all from the serial killer? These two have issues, and things to prove, both to each other and others. They clash, but they are a good team as well. I do so enjoy the crime solving aspects, it's one of the things I don't get tired of especially in this series.

My copy came from Christian Fiction Blog Alliance in exchange for my honest review and nothing more.

I absolutely love reading anything by DiAnn Mills. The story in this novel was no exception! This story kept me guessing until the end as to who the suspects were, although I did guess a few things correctly!

I couldn't wait to keep reading this story. I loved the dialogue between the main characters, Tatcher and Bethany. The characters were well developed and entirely believable.
