I enjoyed this book. I think I have read too many thrillers, I expected the worst from Scotland straight from the start. I can't be the only one who that it was going to end with him having the Redhead tied up in the basement or something. So glad I was wrong, the ending is obvious in retrospect but I definitely thought it would go another direction. A tense yet lovely story of what lengths a father will go to.

My son bought this for me for my birthday. I've never read anything by this author, but the book looked interesting enough. It took me a couple of chapter to really get to know the characters,  but once I was hooked I flew through it. There were multiple twists and couple places I thought there would be twists and there was nothing. I would not be against reading more from Kimi Cunningham Grant.

I loved this book, read it so fast! It's tense and human and surprisingly heartwarming.

Wouldn’t really consider this a thriller but a pleasant surprise!

Cooper and his daughter, Finch, live in the woods far away from most people. A watchful neighbor keeps them company. They are hiding from their past when Cooper had to do what he has to in order to save Finch.

The writing in the book is so descriptive that I could picture the cabin, the woods, the chickens, everything that happened. The book had many flashbacks that help explain the present. I really enjoyed this book.

The pacing, story telling, characters and plot were all excellent. One of the best I’ve read this year for sure.
