Lady Venetia (which I dubbed Lady Veneto, after the Italian region) was frustrating and annoying, seemingly lacking any sort of foundation for her personality and character. And, her love interest, is even worse.
However, in a story where the premise is that the main character gets kidnapped
and eventually falls in love with her kidnapper, what I have expected? And, I believe for that matter, it’s entirely my fault for expecting a more intriguing plot with characters that made sense in their situations.

The hero is incredibly frustrating and often times infuriating, all the while being a misogynist (although, I guess it’s historically accurate. But, does it matter to be historically accurate when that’s not the main interest of the readers? Should one purposefully perpetuate and uphold the patriarchy even in a work of fiction? I don’t know.).
Anyway, I would recommend this book to anyone whose searching for a quick and spicy read.
