A very pleasant walk through some thoughts on Orwells’s life, his relationship to nature and natures relationship to politics generally. Lacked focus and depth sometimes, but enjoyed the writing and the ideas

Read this for my book club. I like Rebecca Solnit so was glad to have an excuse to read another book of hers. I actually listened to the audio version, which she narrates. Her narration isn't for everyone (based on book club input), but I enjoyed it.
As far as the book itself, Solnit meanders through a variety of themes loosely based on the roses which can still be found in the garden of Orwell's former residence. Solnit has a way of weaving together seemingly disparate themes into a satisfying finale.
