Overall a pretty cute and enjoyable read. The characters are very likable and the  main characters’ relationship progression was sweet and satisfying. I did remove 1 star from my rating due to a couple moments in the text that really took me out of the flow of the story. For example near the end, one of the characters gets mad at his boyfriend for choosing his sister (who he’s known for his whole life) over him (a guy he’s only known for a few months). The other main thing that took me out of the flow of the story was the unexpected frequent discussion of AI. A few chapters in it is revealed that one of the characters is studying and programming AI in school. I personally dislike AI and hearing a character discuss it so positively definitely made me like him a little less. I was worried at first that AI was going to be a major part of the book and almost stopped reading after it was introduced as a plot point, but I was really enjoying the story so I continued reading and was happy to see that the AI storyline really had no influence on the central plot. Despite this, however, there were parts where the characters just started discussing AI out of no where. For example one time when the main couple is hooking up the guy who’s working with AI just goes, “did you know AI created its own language.” All in all if a character really liking AI and talking about it a decent amount throughout the book doesn’t bother you it probably won’t stand out to you as much as it did to me, an AI hater, but since the book blurb and description give no indication that AI will be featured as much as it is in the book I just wanted to give potential readers a heads up.

the book ends on a cliff hanger

ACOUSTICS was the perfect combination of cute and sexy and it was a fantastic debut romance! Colby promised he wouldn't sleep with his sister's new roommate, but how is he supposed to resist the cute and nerdy Chance? With his shy personality and his nerdy talk of AI and robots, Chance captures Colby's eye and maybe even his heart.

I read ACOUSTICS in one sitting because I was enjoying it so much, the writing and story flowed really well and I was immediately sucked in. Chance and Colby were great together and I loved their banter and the friendship they formed outside of the relationship. I also really liked how confident Chance was in contrast to his quieter personality; he might be an introvert but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what he wants, especially when it comes to getting Colby in bed. These two were very steamy and I loved how they communicated their desires.

This was low-angst, joyful, and so much fun! I'm really looking forward to reading more by this author.

A pretty fast-paced read, which I did appreciate, even if it means that I don't feel like either Chance or Colby's jobs were very fleshed-out. Some of the stuff around Chance's identity did feel a bit "Trans 101"
Spoilerlike Colby practically turning to the camera to say not all trans folks like all parts of their bodies touched
, but in a way that feels earnest in its desire to educate, so I don't want to be too critical. What I do want to be critical of is a book using "clean" to mean "free from STIs" in 2021; that was pretty jarring.

Trans Man x Cis Man "and he was his sister's room-mate" with the cutest and sexiest central relationship? Amazing.

Respectfully Lovely

For an erotica romance this is a sweet tale . For starters and what I love the most is that it is so respectful for the trans indivusal. It dosen't make it seem like an impersonating male. Or the thing to conquere. It is giving chance to say his own wants about his needs sexual and it's not questioned. Its discussed in a jeavthy way between Colby and Chance not just only good for any relationship but great for a relationship that has an extra step to navigate.

The story it self is sweet. Obviously an instant grabber of connection plus the longing of oh no! We can't be together! Yeah its one of those tale and it was still nice. Pacing was good and a different twist on how roles worked, for which I won't spoil here.

All and all I liked it.
