i didn't particularly care for the first or third story, however the second story made me silently cry, my heart broke into pieces when i realized what was happening in the last one.
fumiko's story felt so superficial and shallow that i didn't know if i was going to continue reading the book however, as pages go by you end up loving the characters as if they're a part of your life. i'd say it's a book worth reading as it is very atmospheric and it makes you reflect & feel a certain tenderness about living.

If a book makes me cry, I find that it’s a good book. A chapter of this book had me bawling.

A short but packed read. I really enjoyed the world it took me to and the stories inside just one cafe. If you’re a fan of the real world with a bit of magic, you will like this!

A coffee shop where, if you sit in a specific seat and follow a very strict set of rules, you can travel back (and forth) in time.
The idea is pretty nice and I liked most of the book apart from the last of the four stories.
I still want to read the other books but they’re not high up on my priority list.

Sometimes the book has everything you like and it just doesn't hit, like this one for me. I adore time travel, love short stories, and love love when book character-driven. But this one in a little more than 200 pages was so difficult to get through for me. Closer to the end I found out this was a play originally and I think I would enjoy it more on stage.
But like the but i didnt a good time in the slightest and I'm not sure it was because of translation or author's style or me not just vibing with it.
2.6 stars for last story and very interesting concept of time travel and its rules. I think I will try one more book with different translator to get it but I don't think I will continue with whole series.
