i picked this book up for the first time as an adult because we were discussing its problematic netflix depiction in one of my classes—the book is so wonderfully done in comparison and feels essential as a tool to remind young people that they can truly never know how their words and actions might affect someone and impact their life. jay asher sends this message in such a unique format that kept me hooked and turning the page.

accessible and easy-to-read yet still absolutely crushing and difficult to stomach.

I watched the series first and it was outstanding. I had to read the book to see... and the book matches the first season almost identically with the show adding a little more (and very well I might add)... BOTH will stay with me for life and I highly recommend them to everyone.
