3.5 stars. Liked the story, loved the frame, infatuated with the art choices.

Suburban supernatural drama anchored by pre-teen girls in late '80s is a welcome premise. Many points for not choosing caricatured Valley Girl personas -- instead adding subtle, authentic touches of real-world decade fashion and pop references (Erik Stoltz in The Mask!) for these particular characters based on their age and environment. The inter-group dynamic rings entirely true, and I only hope this is given more screentime in later issues rather than being discarded for paranormal antics alone.

Multi-tonal purples, pinks, and aquas suffuse the art, not only clothing but also skies and skin tones and even entire pages. It's an electric, clever nod to the decade, yes, but the fact that they are washed over darker greys and blacks plays with a moodiness that contributes to the off-kilter weirdness of the narrative.

art style and colors and aesthetic of this: 10/10. but story and characters were lacking in my opinion. it just didn’t really hook me. also the character Mac kinda sucks.

This was a really fun read. The best 80s movie they never made in the 80s. Incredible art style and colors.
