good story but a bit hard to follow at times, i love mac being homophobic and i like that it's a bit more gruesome and has more interesting monster designs than the series

Love this!! The Stand by Me set up of a group of kids figuring out a mystery together is a classic, but the twists and scope for Paper Girls take it to a whole new level. I also really like the fact that the Erin, Mac, KJ, and Tiff are all 12 instead of 16-19. The age range completely changes the girls’ dynamics and priorities, and everyone should get to have world-changing science fiction adventures no matter their age. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Very interesting start to the Paper Girls saga. I'll be looking forward to reading more in Vol 2.

Four paper girls in 1988 connect as the world begins to not resemble anything they know. Dinousaurs flying out of portals in the sky, interstellar/futuristic teens also fighting for themselves, and some interstellar/future elders trying to get young women to behave who have no intention to.

Interesting concept that seems to involve time travel with beautiful, colorful art. However, I found the plot moved too quickly for me to get really attached to the story and characters. I might read the next volume?
