I was really disappointed that the romance plot overshadowed the actual plot in the current timeline which is what I found truly unique. The romance felt have half-baked. The idea of fae warriors disappearing and coming back pregnant with demon children is so cool! I wish the author did more with it!

The conversation around SA was interesting and I thought was well respectfully.

The use of the minor/adult relationship come across as on the verge of grooming.

I really enjoyed this book from page 1 !! The story is awesome & different from other dark fantasy romances .. slow spicy burn but the sparks are definitely flying the whole time leading up to . The love story is just sooo good as well !! Definitely can’t wait for the next one !!!

This was a lot more relationship driven than plot driven - which others may like - but wasn’t for me. The moments that should have been climaxes just weren’t that intense. The relationship was a little weird to me - one of those “ancient fae king falls in love with 16 year old human” stories. Almost a little Stockholm-y. FMC was kind of lame, and MMC was supposedly “King of the night” aka Mr Lust - but when the sex scenes finally came, they were so vanilla. Very lame for the trash talk leading up to it.
I did enjoy the banter between the FMC & MMC in the middle 3rd of the book. And I didn’t have to drag myself through the read. So that earns it 3.25 stars. But, eh - just not for me.

This was such a good read! It’s the perfect little book if you want something “short” with enough detail to drag you in yet not have you confused. There was minimal to moderate world building but it’s enough to follow the story and actually enjoy it. Rather than something so complex like ACOTAR, TOG, etc. (I find those to be extensive world building). It had spice, romance, and a PLOT. All in all a good cozy read for romantasy lovers
