This is not a historical fiction book. It is a mediocre romance novel.

4.5 stars. I really liked this book. I just wish the end was a little different.

It was more “romancey” that I normally go for. I felt the main character was a little forced into the “independent woman” box. The conflict between her and her love interest made no sense to me. It was okay.

After writing my thoughts out - it was more like a 3.

I was somewhat bummed about this book. After reading another of the author’s books (which I loved), I was excited to start this one. There are historical inaccuracies and it seems that the author didn’t do their due diligence with the intricacies of WWII (aside from the WASP program). The main character was pretty simple, but that was fine with me because this was probably in line with the “normal” stories of these women, instead of some crazy war story. It also felt like more of a romance novel woven into a historical fiction. While I love romance, I chose this more for the historical aspect. Overall, it was a decent read….but underwhelming.

It was ok. A lot of stereotypes and not enough depth.
