Kettle Springs needs permanent National Guard garrisons. While still ridiculous, Frendo Lives puts itself together much better than the first book. The first book was riddled with random twists and tangents that felt like they only existed for the sake of having another twist. This addition keeps the unlikely twists to a minimum and actually plausible (within the realm of Clown in a Cornfield, which is not a very plausible world.)

I adored the first book, so naturally, I was very so excited to read this one! Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives does not disappoint, pays homage to classic slasher movies, and really shows us what is wrong with the world, something I love when a horror movie or book is able to do and able to do well.

I think Adam Cesare has successfully avoided the sequel slump, something that often occurs in the film counterparts for which this series is so likened. I really had no idea how he was going to transport us back to Kettle Springs after the ultimate escape into gore and horror that was the first, but despite (or perhaps because of) my very real disdain of clowns
