Fox 8 is probably my favourite literary character from 2018.

Ikr, I'd love to read this English error. Yet, it told us the deforestation. I fell with the writings.

Fox 8 is a short story (a very short novella?) by George Saunders apart from his collections. The story is a letter written in first person from a fox (full of misspellings and confusions about human culture). The foxes’ home is being destroyed by a shopping mall. Fox 8, however, thinks that the mall could be a good thing! Unlimited food! Of course, he is quickly proven wrong.
Darkly humorous, satirical. Typical Saunders.

"And they go: Foxes are our favrit Animal.
And I go: Thanks.
And they go: Why o why were we so stupid as to choose Dogs for our mane Pets?
And I go: I reely don’t know."
When I got to hear about this book, I was super excited since I love foxes and I love a good story. I must tell that I loved the way this story is told. I loved how hopeful and funny and good-hearted and naive Fox 8 was. I also loved the morals of the story. It made me feel both fun and sadness. Fox 8 and his friends will forever be remembered by me.
As Fox 8 said, "Gudby deer frends. I will not forgit you."

Wow. This was beautiful and great, great, great, then it got awful and sad and I hurt.
This was really interesting as it was told from a fox's POV and it talks about some serious issues like deforestation and the impact development has on wildlife. This little thing really packs a punch, humans are the most vile creatures. The way it's told is really beautifully done and I need to go hug my dog now.
