I waited almost 400 pages for some guy named John to die and (Spoiler alert)HE NEVER DIES!!!! Sad. Worth the journey though, i guess...

I'm not sure how to rate this one. There's a lot to like but some of the language really feels dated. Maybe i'm just cringing from remembering the era this book came out in. it's more like 3.5 stars.

Hilarious book! An easy read that's funny, weird, and gross. Sort of a mixture of Kafka, Klosterman, and Palahniuk.

Read for about one day. Couldn’t take it. Irritating. Moving on.

The writing style was excellent, the setting original, and the characters well rendered... so why was reading this book such a chore? I just don't know.

Perhaps because I found the protagonist to be uninteresting. Fireworks were going off all around him but not much was happening within. Or maybe I wasn't in the mood. [Shrug.]

I am an avid horror reader, and this book was unlike anything I've ever read before. It was refreshing to be able to laugh through one page and shudder through another. Although this isn't my favorite book, I definitely like that the author brought something new to the horror genre. I'd recommend it.
